From the Publisher
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? Stephen King’s heart-stoppingly dramatic new novel is about a man who travels back in time to prevent the JFK assassination—a thousand page tour de force.

Following his massively successful novel Under the Dome, King sweeps readers back in time to another moment—a real life moment—when everything went wrong: the JFK assassination. And he introduces readers to a character who has the power to change the course of history.

Jake Epping is a thirty-five-year-old high school English teacher in Lisbon Falls, Maine, who makes extra money teaching adults in the GED program. He receives an essay from one of the students—a gruesome, harrowing first person story about the night 50 years ago when Harry Dunning’s father came home and killed his mother, his sister, and his brother with a hammer. Harry escaped with a smashed leg, as evidenced by his crooked walk.

Not much later, Jake’s friend Al, who runs the local diner, divulges a secret: his storeroom is a portal to 1958. He enlists Jake on an insane—and insanely possible—mission to try to prevent the Kennedy assassination. So begins Jake’s new life as George Amberson and his new world of Elvis and JFK, of big American cars and sock hops, of a troubled loner named Lee Harvey Oswald and a beautiful high school librarian named Sadie Dunhill, who becomes the love of Jake’s life—a life that transgresses all the normal rules of time.

A tribute to a simpler era and a devastating exercise in escalating suspense, 11/22/63 is Stephen King at his epic best.

  1. Heck ….. I want to know when the movie’s going to come out …… sounds like an awesome story. Especially for those of us who were around on 11-22-63. Thanks Stephen!

  2. How do we find out what book store is hosting Stephen King’s book signing? I live in New Orleans and have attended several book signings in the area and am well aware of how hectic normal signings are here, let alone the great Stephen King.

  3. Will he be adding more cities and dates or are these the only ones planned at this point in time? Dallas is the closest city to me, and I have a stage picture of the Rock Bottom Remainders I took in LA that I am trying to get all the authors pictured to sign.

I suggest anyone going to the Dallas signing also visit the Book depository and take the tour. It is a very emotional experience.

If you get to go, have fun kiddos!

  4. I want to know if you have to purchase tickets in advance for the book signing or if you just go to the book store the day of……(I have never been to a book signing before). I graduate from college the week before stephen king is to be in atlanta and I would LOVE to get him to sign something for me!

    • Marsha,

Thank you for your message. This information is not posted on StephenKing.com yet. The source is the Barnes N Noble website, the bookstore hosting the Sarasota event. See link above.

  5. What can I do to get information about pre-signed books? I don’t see where Mr. King will be in the midwest area of the country. Will it be possible to call a bookstore and possibly have them reserve and send one?

    • Hi Tony,

Thanks for your question. For the Stephen King events, normally the bookstores do not allow non-attendees to order pre-signed books from the event. However, it never hurts to contact them and ask. All the event detail links are provided above.
