About the Event:

Now in its 9th year, the Detroit Festival of Books is the largest book festival in the state of Michigan. Held at the historic Eastern Market on July 19, 2026, this massive free event draws up to 20,000 attendees from across North America. The festival is much more than a traditional book fair—it features over 300 vendors selling antiquarian books, vinyl records, comic books, and creative arts. Visitors can expect a high-energy atmosphere complete with hands-on children’s projects, street performers, and a live DJ spinning Detroit funk music.
