The second annual Carmel-by-the-Sea Book Festival transforms Carmel Plaza into a vibrant, walkable literary celebration. Scheduled for July 18, 2026, the morning kicks off with intimate author panels featuring prominent literary voices like Pulitzer Prize-winner Jane Smiley, journalist Meredith May, and author Lisa Crawford Watson. After the morning panels, attendees can explore a lively Book Expo featuring over 30 authors and exhibitors. The day concludes with a special presentation on human connection and the unveiling of the 2026 “Hearts of Carmel” public art collection.
