The Duggars, Book Signing Tour “A Love That Multiplies”

The stars of TLC reality TV show “19 Kids and Counting,” Michelle and Jim Bob Duggars, will be making a nationwide book tour signing copies of “A Love That Multiplies.”

The Duggars are a family of ultra-conservative Baptists who decided to forgo all forms of birth control after Michelle suffered a miscarriage, believing the use of contraceptives was the cause. They now have 19 children, all of whom are or have been home-schooled, are discouraged from dating in favor of old fashioned “courtship,” and who apparently watch only Christian programming on DVDs. Hmmm… one has to wonder if they watch their own reality show, or appearances on such shows as Jimmy Kimmel Live and The View. Jim Bob Duggar served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1999 to 2002 and Michelle Duggar won the “Young Mother of the Year Award” in Arkansas in 2004. All 19 of the Duggar children have names starting with the letter “J” — the eldest, Joshua James, is already a father and expecting his second child in June 2011.

From the Publisher
In this second book from the Duggars, they focus on the principles that equip them to face life’s challenges—drawing from their most recent challenge with the 3-month premature birth of their newest child, Josie. They also share the new challenges their older children are facing as they prepare for adult life. Central to the book is a section on the principles that the Duggars have consistently taught their children. These simply worded principles are basic to the Duggar family and are shared in a way that other parents can incorporate in their own homes. A special chapter on homeschooling gives valuable information to parents who are considering this route or are already invested in it. The world continues to be amazed by their nineteen well-groomed, well-behaved, well-schooled children and their home life, which focuses on family, financial responsibility, fun—and must importantly, faith. The Duggars show how parents can succeed whether they’re rearing a single child or several.
