About Decision Points

President George W. Bush describes the critical decisions of his presidency and personal life.

Decision Points is the extraordinary memoir of America’s 43rd president. Shattering the conventions of political autobiography, George W. Bush offers a strikingly candid journey through the defining decisions of his life.

In gripping, never-before-heard detail, President Bush brings readers inside the Texas Governor’s Mansion on the night of the hotly contested 2000 election; aboard Air Force One on 9/11, in the hours after America’s most devastating attack since Pearl Harbor; at the head of the table in the Situation Room in the moments before launching the war in Iraq; and behind the Oval Office desk for his historic and controversial decisions on the financial crisis, Hurricane Katrina, Afghanistan, Iran, and other issues that have shaped the first decade of the 21st century.

President Bush writes honestly and directly about his flaws and mistakes, as well as his accomplishments reforming education, treating HIV/AIDS in Africa, and safeguarding the country amid chilling warnings of additional terrorist attacks. He also offers intimate new details on his decision to quit drinking, discovery of faith, and relationship with his family.

A groundbreaking new brand of memoir, Decision Points will captivate supporters, surprise critics, and change perspectives on one of the most consequential eras in American history – and the man at the center of events.

In this new published video, Bush describes his upcoming new book “Decision Points”:

George Walker Bush was the 43rd President of the United States, serving from 2001 to 2009, and the 46th Governor of Texas, serving from 1995 to 2000. Bush is the eldest son of President George H. W. Bush, who served as the 41st President, and Barbara Bush, making him one of only two American presidents to be the son of a preceding president.

In 1999, Easton Press published a leather bound signed first edition of “A Charge to Keep”. Collector’s Corner – Presidential Autographs
Many collectors choose to build their library around the presidents. Collecting presidential autographs can be one of the best thrills but at the same time can be quite tedious. The fact of the matter is, each presidential signature has its own story about the uniqueness of the presidents’ expression.

This is going beyond just the technical lines of the autograph itself. For example, the way in which a person presents their signature may be an insight into who they are as a person. This is precisely why collecting presidential autographs can be such a rewarding hobby. Why the book now? Is he trying to repair his reputation for the condition he led this country into during his 8 years? Yeah George, methinks you have some ‘splaining to do. Can’t believe he has a direct address to the reader on youtube lol. As always, it appears he’s saying someone else’s words, reading from cue cards. Five words: Thank God for Barack Obama!

5 Better Words: Thank God For January 2012. When Barack Obama is finally out of office and the country can return to its normal standing. When we can finally stop “hoping” and start “doing” things to make America what it was and should be.

2012 is not technically a word. It’s a number. So you have 4 words and 1 number. :)
        But that’s alright. nobody’s perfect.

Actually 2012 is a symbol meaning two thousand and twelve, so there are 8 words. But that’s alright. Nobody’s perfect ;)

Our current president reads from a Teleprompter … what’s the damn difference stupid? I do believe our current president sends crap out on you tube as well!… If you read the book, or listened to an interview, he never gave way to him morals…no matter what public opinion was. Cant say that for our current failure in power! He kisses everyone’s ass, including his illegal immigrant aunt, half sister who’s Indonesian and step brother who lives in a grass hut in Africa. And we seriously think he’s an American citizen. Can’t wait another 2 years before we can kick him out. That is…if I’m not a Muslim, and have any money left!

Nice adjectives and expletives. You’re truly a great thinker.

“he never gave way to him morals”

I didn’t understand that one. Did you mean ‘his’ morals? Which morals are you referring to, exactly?

I’m glad your world turned on its head a minority was sworn into the most powerful position in the U.S.–and quite possibly in the world.

If you’re questioning if Pres. Obama’s a Native American, he’s not. I’m sure you’re not either…! So, go back on your boat to whichever European country your ancestors were forced to leave.

Hmmm… well he’s not in favor of outsourcing millions of jobs offshore like the last President was. In case you were not aware, the current recession started while Dubya was in office. Obama is simply the proud inheritor of the disaster little Georgie made of this country.

About the cue cards, au contraire, he’s a lot better. With Obama, I get the sense that he actually understands what he’s reading (and likely had a hand in writing it). Georgie – not so.

The democratically controlled congress also started in “Bush’s illustrious 2nd term”, what’s your point? That congress controls spending? Excellent point. The economy went into the crapper when the Dems showed up. Funny how the economy perked up under Bill Clinton (hint: Republican congress 1994)

Keeping it simple…Clinton signed NAFTA into law. Dem’s have had Congress for 6 years now and the senate for 2. So by your way of thinking, if the economy turns around, it will be thanks to uncle Barry’s wisdom…and what would that be? Oh yeah, extending the Bush tax cuts! Also, education does not equal intelligence, so stop with the “you can’t spell” comments and talk about why Obama can’t lead. He is an arrogant, hand fed, talking head who couldn’t lead his way out of George Bush’s shadow!

It amazes me how stupid people can be. Barack Obama has done nothing for our country, besides give us more debt. And for all the people that think President Bush is this awful person that doesn’t care about America, what was he supposed to do on 9/11, and what was he supposed to do about going to war? What would you have done in those situations, when the people of America are looking up to you? So don’t just make conclusions. The man’s job was to protect our country from attack, and he did.

I find it odd that the space for comment should be occupied by political opinion rather than interest for the book itself. As an avid collector I have many books by historical figures, many of whom were controversial and some even monsterous. We should celebrate instead the fact a book is forthcoming tha may allow us the opportunity to examine the man behind the decisions (and yes, I have President Obama’s book already….).

Well just what HAS he done for this nation? Hmmm… let’s see. He used a supposed “terrorist attack” (the results of which defy all laws of physics) as,

an excuse to drag this nation into a war for… how many years has it been now?

an excuse to promote American imperialism, as always, under the guise of defending democracy.

an excuse to deprive of us our constitutional rights via “the Patriot Act.”

He made a mess of this country and left it for the new guy to clean up. Am I missing anything?

Defies all laws of Physics. Hmm…

“Entropy is a thermodynamic property that is a measure of the energy not available for work in a thermodynamic process. It is defined by the second law of thermodynamics. In the microscopic interpretation of statistical mechanics, entropy expresses the disorder or randomness of the constituents of a thermodynamic system or, analogously, the availability of accessible quantum mechanical states. A closed system always tends towards achieving a state with a maximum of entropy”

That’s a small part of the physics I learned in school. You may want to rethink your education, if you spent anything other than other people’s hard-stolen tax dollars on it.

You might also want to study:

“Gravitation, or gravity, is a natural phenomenon in which objects with mass attract one another.[1] In everyday life, gravitation is most familiar as the agent that gives weight to objects with mass and causes them to fall to the ground when dropped.”

        Or:

“Ductility is a mechanical property that describes the extent in which solid materials can be plastically deformed without fracture.

In materials science, ductility specifically refers to a material’s ability to deform under tensile stress; this is often characterized by the material’s ability to be stretched into a wire.”

Of course, you would also need to study thermodynamics, the chemistry of materials, statics, dynamics, statistics, and a whole stack of mechanical and/or civil engineering texts. When you do, we can talk.

While I will respectfully disagree that Bush was a good president, he did face well the attacks on a nation, and we had 6 years of the most prosperous time in American history. This in know way excuses him from never vetoing a bill in 8 years as president. Nor does it excuse his lack of effort with the 110th Congress driving America in to the ground. And I will never forgive him for his total lack of effort in pointing out the flawed Frank-Dodd-Rangel committees, and the stupidity that came from them that gave people houses they could not afford, encouraged them to commit material fraud, and then hid the trail through series of Congressionally approved banking maneuvers.

This Congress and our current President are no better. Worthless buffoons who have nothing better to do than steal money from a nation, and spend it like no one is looking. Hopefully, we will have two years where nothing gets done in government. We need the rest!!

We need him back in our hearts and schools and with luck another Christian leader that puts Americans first and doesn’t make promise after promise and excuse after excuse. A leader that LISTEN’s to the people he has been elected to serve. Not turning a blind ear to the majority and will be willing to compromise and listen NOT keep pushing for his own socialistic views and give away everything hard working Americans have fought and died for, only to find that their leader has failed to see the path of destruction he is trying to cram down our throats.
Enjoy your welfare state while it last, as for me and mine we do not want hand outs we want to work and contribute and continue making this the strongest most sought after Country to live in, in the world.

You missed this section though: "The entropy of an isolated system not in equilibrium will tend to increase over time, approaching a maximum value at equilibrium." <– That means that such a structure would tip away from the center of gravity and not free fall in the direction of most resistance, neatly into a pile.

It's truly frightening to me that there are people who still believe the man gives a flying frog leg about the people of this nation, or that he's a good "Christian" – lol, tell that to the Skull and Bones society.

Shut up. The government isn’t here to kill you or take your life away. If you really want that feeling then go to china, I hear they’re taking rights!

Thank You President Bush for safe and wonderful 8 years. I miss you. I wish you were the president now.
Now everything is a mess, and hopefully in 2 years we’ll come again to straighten things out.
    God Bless President Bush…

Right, it was a safe and wonderful 8 years.. until 9/11 happened, which they failed to protect the nation from.
Anyway, everything is a mess because of the prior administration.

Haha, probably. It’s been 2 years and your still blaming everything on Bush. Obama has tripled our debt with his brilliance

I felt so much safer when President Bush was in office. I believe he was one of the greatest/bravest presidents. He had a mess to clean up after President Clinton and he did the best he could. He defended this nation to the best of his ability, after all his main priority was “Commander in Chief”. I hope that 2012 will bring about another great leader and get this nonexperienced, no clue, wasteful, nonappreciative, nonunderstanding man out of the oval office and get someone who is ready to fight for america, understands the people, and will be willing to work day and night to protect this nation. God bless the USA! President Bush I miss you terribly and I wish you well!

Also, did anyone see him on jay Leno last night? it just shows you what a good man, class act, he is when Jay Leno asked him what he thinks about President Obama/the current economic situation he simply said “I find it distasteful for a leader to criticize his successor and i’m not going to do that”. however, every time i see Obama’s ugly mug on the tv he is constantly bashing president bush and blaming him for things that he has no clue what he’s even talking about. that my friends is the difference between a southern gentleman and a foreign thug!

Please do not be afraid!! Do your own research on what Bush knew on 9/11/01, there is enough hidden in plain sight to obviate his foreknowledge, if not complicity. Truth is absolute, it speaks for itself, and it shall set you free!

I want his book and I love in Indiana. I’m also 15, thus ruling out the possibility of me being an oil man. Osama’s dead buddy. George also wasn’t even in a cave when they shot this video…

Correction on who wants to buy your book. Texan women who are told what to do, say, wear and even told if they want to have sex with their daddy and give birth to their daddy’s baby want to buy it also. Oh and if you happen to be in Texas could you as a former president do something worth while and look into what you can do to help reduce violence on the borders so that your fellow baby lala’s will stop whining about it.

That wasn’t ignorant or completely stereotypical in any, way, shape, or form! You’re right Texans should be more like people from North Dakota… oh wait. How many people live in North Dakota? 6? 7? 3?!?! really? I was close
